Rent control and Menino’s re-election: The surest sign yet that Mayor Menino intends to run for mayor again ... and again ...and again: He’s come out in favor of reintroducing rent control in Boston. In the past, the mayor has repeatedly reassured developers and landlords that he didn’t want to return to the old rent-control days. The result: Massive private investment in housing. Now he’s introduced this bureaucratic nightmare. This guy just can’t be trusted.
