Yes, but did Herr Hitler have a Viking stove?: Nifty little piece about the controversy over Homes & Gardens’ 1938 puff piece on Hitler’s vacation spread -- and its obnoxious attempt today to quash Internet coverage of it via bogus copyright claims. Harvard University’s Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies has the cover illustration and text. ... The amazing thing: The puff piece was written a mere 10 months before the outbreak of WWII. More proof the Under-the-Tuscan-Sun types have always lived in a false universe -- and raked in money by promoting a false universe. ... Damn it! One of these days Hub Blog is gonna get that aircraft-carrier kitchen island!
Update -- Many magazines/newspapers botched the pre-war analysis of Hitler. Many also obviously botched the post-war coverage of the occupation. Interesting.
