'Unburdened of the glitter and tinsel'
Mary Jane Wilkie makes an
intriguing argument that Christmas shouldn't be a legal holiday in America. She's not approaching it from a separation-of-church-and-state angle. But rather from a Christmas-as-celebrated-sucks angle. Can't really disagree with that sentiment. But she's a little daffy when she suggests merely eliminating the legal status of Christmas will lead to better schools, happier work places, fewer drunken X-Mas parties and more devout believers etc. Not even Santa can deliver on those promises. ...
