The only thing that can help Republicans in the short-term are divisions within the Democratic party.

I would much rather see a quiet call placed by [Obama chief of staff] Rahm Emanuel saying this isn't helpful. Instead, we try to decimate them?" ... But what if they're
not viewed as friends? What if the liberal-wing of the party is merely a mirror-image of the Limbaugh-wing of the GOP, seeking ideological purity and dismissing the moderate middle? ... All of this is over the single-payer clause we all know is the wedge the left is using to obtain an entire single-payer system.
