Blaming Martha, Part II
After blaming Martha, they’re going to blame … the American people. You know, we have this ‘disease of our time. You know, that sort of instant forgetting.’ … Thanks, you know, Tom. … Actually, you know, Thomas Frank makes some good, you know, points about the fanaticism of the conservative-movement mindset. But it’s all about, you know, conservatives (bad) vs. liberals (good) in his mind, and the rest of us in the middle are, you know, not really there. … I still think Byron York nailed it a few weeks ago in a piece headlined "Republicans deserve blame for Democratic excesses." The Tea Party types don’t get it. Bill Moyers and Tom Frank don’t get it. This is what they don’t get:

Many (voters) will be fully ready to vote Democrats out of office but will not be fully ready to vote Republicans in. Faced with an either/or choice, they will weigh whether they want to get rid of Democrats more than they want to stay away from Republicans.P.S. – Bill Moyers’ show wasn’t a complete disaster last night. His interview with Greg Mortenson was outstanding. Mortenson’s descriptions of the Taliban and conditions in Afghanistan were mesmerizing.
