I heard the top of the Sox radio pre-game Thursday with all the announcers pointing out essential contributions of Williams to 1967, and essential contributions of 1967 to the modern Red Sox era.
And - thinking outside the Boston box - let's not forget Williams' two world series with the unforgettable 1970s A's. Would there be a modern ESPN without Reggie, Catfish and Rollie Fingers' mustache?
