I think the debate is largely over about whether the Whitey tipster should have been outed. The Globe, via DK's
two posts this morning, makes compelling arguments for running with the name, among them: 1.) The FBI and US Attorney never objected. 2.) Whitey almost certainly knew the Icelandic woman was the tipster. 3.) There are plenty of other far more damaging witnesses out there and they're not in witness protection. ... Running with the name was the right call in this case.
