Young men fighting old men’s wars
Take a look at this government-media photo of North Korean
“leader” Kim Jong Un inspecting troops. Notice the youthful age of the “leader”
and "his" troops. Then take a close gander at the aging generals in the left
background. They’re the ones running the country. They’re ultimately the ones
threatening war. All countries send their young sons off to war. But there’s something
especially horrible and sick when old military men like this actually run an
entire country and so cavalierly toss about threats of war – even nuclear war.
Who do they answer to? Who’s their moral check-and-balance?
What type of leadership clique tolerates this type of behavior and rhetoric
decade after decade? Obviously, it’s a very horrible and sick clique. One can only hope China is doing
all it can to restrain them behind the scenes.
